Letter from the Chapter
Hello! My name is Angeleah Carreras and I am the Vice President of Membership for the Alpha Theta chapter of Delta Delta Delta! I am a Neuroscience major and also obtaining a minor is Spanish and two certificates: Global Studies and Conceptual Foundations in Medicine. As VP of membership I am responsible for planning and coordinating, with the help of the chapter, Tri Delta recruitment for this year! At the University of Pittsburgh, recruitment is not only a process for finding the house that fits you best, but it’s also a great way to meet new friends.
At first, I didn’t think Greek life was for me but, I was wrong – it was better than I expected. Personally, I missed the small close-knit aspect of high school so I decided (literally the day before recruitment started) to try it out and go through the process. Looking back on it now, it was one of the best things I did in regards to every aspect of college & personal life. I met some of my best friends and mentors in Tri Delta who can never be replaced & will 100% be with me and supporting me throughout my life. Regardless of the organization, Greek life as a whole brought back the small school vibe I had in high school!
Even if you’re on the border about Greek life, I highly encourage you to go through recruitment and try it out. It only brought positivity and strong friendships into my life!
